How it Works

This diagram illustrates the simple network structure and operation of the high-speed wireless Internet service.

A user enters an Azure Hotspot and configures their laptop, PDA or phone to detect the access point located in the venue. The user then opens their web browser, types in any website address and Azure’s Authentication System sends them a login screen on their browser.
The user then enters their username and ISP details into the login screen, thus providing Azure’s Authentication System with a request to access the network. Azure passes this request to the appropriate ISP, who pass back authentication and billing information that relate to that user. Following authentication, Azure’s broadband network ensures the user has continual high-speed wireless Internet access and can create a link via the Internet to their own corporate network.
Alternatively, if the user wishes to pay by credit card, they enter their card details and these are passed on to a third party for verification and billing. Azure does not hold or record credit cards numbers.
