Management Team
Chief Operating Officer - Leroy Niania
Leroy has been involved in Azure Wireless since its early days. His career with our company progressed from a sales executive through the Director of Sales and as of February 2006, the Chief Operating Officer. Leroy played a critical role in growing our business, from early stage hotspots to a rapid expansion into the hospitality industry. His intimate knowledge of the wireless data market and his strategic foresight contributed to the success of our company.
Prior to joining Azure Leroy was involved for 15 years in strategic business development in the area of IT security. His major focus was on mobile communications and data networks. He was involved in major projects for customers such as the Federal and State Police and NCA.
Chief Technology Officer – Dr Jacek Kowalski
Jacek has extensive experience in data networking, computer security and systems integration. He has worked in Australia and overseas on multiple development and infrastructure projects for major telcos, banks, aerospace and IT companies, including being involved in the formation of an ASP. He spent several years at a number of R&D institutions including Telstra Research Laboratories where he was developing novel solutions for the Internet and network design algorithms that were used for designing new networks in Asia. Jacek has a number of publications in the area of communication networks and is the inventor of a parallel firewall system which is the subject of an international patent application.
